the mancation part 2

it's the little things that make you happy...

today was such a wonderful day. it was absolutely gorgeous. johnny, noah and i went riding up in NH and the day had a very similar to feel to the day i had with ross back in the summer. it's funny, when you hear "endless summer," you think, "ahhh, how nice." when you hear "endless winter," you think, "oh god no, when's spring??" well, if today could be the rest of winter i wouldn't mind if it were endless.

carrying our cameras on the lifts didn't really last. so we put them away although we kept saying things like, "man, look at the silhouette and backlit powder," "look at the gorgeous light coming through the trees," "look at the shadows and patterns along the snow." needless to say, we, or maybe it was just i, felt a little naked w/o having a camera slung over my shoulder. but it made for a more comfortable ride.

we were all smiles, all day.

see?

we had beanie hair.

johnny had a cool t-shirt, although i don't think i've ever seen even one episode of the show.

it was also my first time back on my board since i broke my leg. there are a lot of muscles in my knee and ankle that i felt being pulled that hadn't been worked for...well, almost a year now. i had a slight fear in the back of my mind that the titanium rod in my tibia could rip right through my knee cap and the plate screwed to my fibula might tear through some muscle tissue if i landed too hard on something. but i think it made me realize i need to ride the rest of the season to get some of these muscles working again. so, we made an informal pact to come up every monday.

and what's this? why, the weather next week seems to clear up right on monday. wow, what are the chances?

we may work saturdays, but hey, when most of the world is heading to work on monday, we get to be on top of a mountain :)

Wow, you are living in Boston.
I am not sure whether you remember me or not. I was an undergraduate student so I did not have much chance to talk to you at O.U. However, it is good to see you. Now I am an MassArt student studying in MFA program.
I am going to visit here whenever I have time because it is fun to read your story. Take care.
